Just as a warning, don't ever stay up 2 days solid, and only drink Vault for the entirety of the second day, with no real food... sleep and real food are essential to staying alive...

I am a helper at my youth group, and we were having a lot of fun doing a game, songs, etc. that requred movement after the day of Vault... During the prayer at the end, i felt really weird so i stepped ino another room, then my vision went blurry and i passed out for a second or two... i'm just glad i was able to get out of the youth room. O.o!

(aside from that, blurry tunnel vision is really fun)

Its actually strange, I have tried three Vaults and I have it has had the wierd affect of making me... not hungry. Nonetheless, I don't know if this is psychological or an physiological in origin but it is very interesting.

Man does not live on soda alone, but on every word. . .

What?. . . why are you all staring at me like that?. . . *runs away*

In all seriousness, I'm glad you didn't injure yourself in the fall, and for your sake and everyone else who knows and loves you, please don't do that again! XD
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

I think it's physiological, soda does have carbohydrates in it, and drinking a lot of anything will make you feel pretty full (try drinking three bottles of water in a row and see). It doesn't matter whether it's liquid or solid, when our stomach is full, it's full. Of course, since liquids pass through a lot quicker, that's why you would feel hungry a lot sooner than you would if you ate dinner, but drinking soda does fill you up.

ha ha, tm. i'm glad you're okay. the LAN party we just did sure has had some interesting twists (like that creepy guy at rite aid or the F.E.A.R prank) and side effects (i just woke up an hour ago)... :sweat: i only drank a couple of vaults, so i didn't get to experience any of the first signs of my CNS going haywire... i should probably warn my brother john not to drink anymore vault while he tries to go for forty hours without sleep...

Well I once read that we need a certain amount of water a day. But we tend to replace that amount with soda, which isn't healthy

I always find it funny when people take that to mean plain water. I've always hated the taste of water when I'm not extremely thirsty or hot, so I usually don't drink it. Instead I'd go for milk. I'm sure I've gone through at least a week without drinking water.

No, I really did mean general water. By plain water I just meant not in something else - such as juice, fruits or, well, basically any foods since they have some amount of water in them.

Well, the bottle it comes in is nice for holding future tap water. But that's about it I guess. So really you only need to buy one bottle for like, the rest of your life.

Remind me only to drink hard drinks from now on...

I'm totally kidding...

It sucks you got sick from the soda...

Oh, and disposability is vital when your back and shoulders are under the weight of a books in a backpack... So, I like throwing away the bottles just so I can lighten my load and flatten my BP out every day... The less in there, the better...

Ooooh. Not good to make a practice of doing that, Monky. Glad you're okay.

I can't drink much soda, carbonated things are bad for my acid reflux; which I hate, since I love orange soda.

And apparently cheap plastic bottles are bad to keep for a long time. Because they are intended to be recycled, if they sit for over a few days with water in them, they start to break down on a very small scale chemical level, and you actually end up drinking chemicals with your water. Don't know if that's true or not, but it's enough to make one wary about keeping cheap bottles for a long time. X3

Its funny but I can't stand the taste of plain water either. In AZ though, we have wierd water... it used to have this strange smell when it came out of the faucet... it doesn't anymore, but it still hasn't lost its nasty after-taste. I only drink it if I feel like I'm dying of thirst and I can't find a soda somewheres. The rapid decrease in soda prices has really helped me out on this one too.

On a strange note however, I find sometimes that I crave the water out of the faucet if I am eating a pure chocolate candy bar like Hersheys (SP?) but that I don't eat those too often so consequently I can avoid the water.

I don't keep water in them for extended lengths of time, though. I keep the bottle lying around empty and fill it with water whenever I want some.

And think about this. If what you said is true...how long do you think those bottles of water have been sitting on the shelf in the store? Or in that vending machine? So it would be bad to drink bottled water, then. But I'm pretty sure that it's not true, considering plastic takes hundreds of years to biodegrade (if not thousands).

EDIT: Tah-dah. Snopes saves the day again.

http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/petbottles.asp

"Some organizations (including the IBWA) do recommend that plastic water bottles be used only once before recycling, but not because re-use is likely to cause carcinogenic compounds to leach from the plastic bottles into the liquids they hold. The concern is that people (particularly children) can too easily spread and ingest bacteria from their hands and mouths by re-using bottles without properly washing them or allowing them sufficient time to dry."

Now, to the topic at hand....yes, you should drink more water. I fail at never drinking soda...but I try to limit it much more then I did when I was younger. (I used to drink a 2 liter a day)
