*baps E_kun* Just because we know blood tastes good doesn't mean you want to get into all that messed up cult stuff!

I've had lots of people tell me about them because I personally like the taste of blood (if I get cut or something; I don't purposely hurt myself or others for it, though--don't worry.) *sigh* Sometimes things just get so twisted...

*hugs Aka-chan* x_X; I know the feeling. I like licking my cuts, and when my mother found out, she made me sit down and watch a documentary about vampire cults.

I hope that doesn't mean posting a link to any such group. . .
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

There are many horrible things out there. We can't really do much about it except to pray for it.

How do you guys tolerate tasting blood really? I can't stand the metallic taste <--which is iron, and reminds me of rust.

Reminds me of a special I saw on tv. Here in Austin there is actually a group like that. I think, every month or whenver there is a full moon, they get together and drink blood. Now I found the screening process for the blood quite interesting. This group will find and pay people for their blood donation. They get what they need, and send it somewhere for screening, to make sure the blood is clean. Anyways, they have a huge party and drink blood together. Very odd...

I'm not sure I'd like to drink other people's blood... Somehow it amuses me that the cult goes through such a screening process to make sure the blood's all right, though. I only drink it occasionally because I like the taste. I'm not sure why, but I do. For me, it's no more "spiritual" than drinking, say, Mountain Dew, though I know I should be careful lest I give non-Christians or "weaker brothers" "stumbling blocks" as the Bible puts it.

Yeah, when I was a kid and I cut my finger, I'd stick it into my mouth as fast as I could (don't ask why-- it made sense at the time). A split second later, I'd rip it back out, grabbing for water as I spat "Oh nasty! Nasty!"

Well, you musn't forget that some SEAsian peoples and other in Europe put blood in their food.

I personally cannot. Read the book of Acts to find out why.

There is indeeds cults such as thata nd even worse ones that I have studied that thier rituals, ceromonies, and practices are to gruesome to say.

Pray for them, they really need it.

As for the taste of blood, I actually don't mind it...being my own. Now if it was others, that's another story ::ick!::

Yes, it does. Without iron our blood would get no oxygen.

Edit to add: I agree blood tastes metallic, and I've heard of these kinda of things before. Elric, you should never get involve with cults because they go much deeper than the outward apperance. o.o

Please, don't give us anymore links, Sher. It would be best, since I believe Shatterheart had made a comment about giving links to these kind of groups. And, for those who have mentioned that they like the taste of "their own blood" let us not make too much of it.:eyeroll: I doubt any of them would run out and join the occult over some blood.

Now, I've heard of this kind of thing before, and in fact occultic people have drank blood since ancient times. It's nothing new - kind of like, "nothing new under the sun." I believe it became kind of a pop culture thing around the time the Anne Rice books, Blade and Buffy the Vampire Slayer became popular in the 90s, and groups like what agasfas mentioned in Houston kind of developed.

For myself, I hate the taste of blood, it is too metallic - I'm with you Mave.

I think it is very wrong to practice drinking other's blood. And, it's the scripture, Acts 21:25 that Ingemar mentioned, that makes me think this way, but that is only a starting point. I believe it is showing just another form of degrading human life, since blood is part of a human being, and is their life source. Also, this had to do with the "things" sacrificed to idols. And we all know how God feels about idols.;) The drinking of blood is a slap on the precious blood of the Lamb. It was an affront to His sacrifice which made it even more blasphemous.

Well, there's my two cents. Go ahead and lick your cuts and wounds you guys, just don't go running around and drinking anyone elses.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.
