Protest Abortion

Postby Angel37 » Wed Oct 11, 2006 1:25 pm

A friend on my lj wrote this and I wanted to share it with you guys as something to participate in. More details on the upcoming podcast!

"Go here.

http://www.standtrue.com/index2.html

lol I'm very surprised if you went there immediately ;)

Aight people, here's the story.

2 Tuesdays from now, the 24th of October, is the Day of Silence.

Whether you believe that abortion is a woman's choice or murder, I'm not debating that right now.

You must admit that there IS a life being silenced.

So we're being silent for a day.

Silent and in prayer.

Check out the website.

And speak up.

er, shut up ;)"

I'm kinda curious as to how this is going to be pulled off seeing as how people kinda need their voices when they're at school. Plus it's on a Tuesday, so no one at my school could do it.

I have a classmate who actually got to participate in this in front of the White House. Pretty cool. :)

the answer is simple make a t-shirt that says "I am being silent for those who are silenced." And put some sort of graphic on the shirt... And wear it on that day... ^_^

this idea sounds cool I wish I could do this!! I can probably do it for half a day. I want to make that shirt though.

In my case, my church my family and I protest continuelly agianst murder. I'm hardly in public so it won't do much for me, but I like this.

Just a thought, wouldn't the proabortionist like us being quiet?

they might, Shao, but I see this as more of a respect thing. You know how there are "moments of silence" for the dead...

there are thousands (millions?) of babies killed every year... I think it's time to take a little bit of a stand...even if it means taking a day of silence.

so is this day on the 24?

Well, it's not as much about being quiet (as in not debating against pro-choice) as it is about the message or symbol it's sending out. "Losing your voice for a day for those who may never have one" is the slogan, I think. Anyways, at least it's automatically "peaceful assembly". XD

EDIT: Aaand, once again, I'm too slow. XD Oh, well.

Yes it is indeed the 24th of October, a Tuesday. Thanks everyone for the positive responses! please help speak out (or shut up XD) for those who have no voice by silencing your own.

In order to prevent political debate that seems inevitable, given the inherently political nature of this topic, we have decided to lock it. However, we will allow the thread to remain on the main forums for those who may be interested and ask that no one who may feel differently raise the issue.
