Old or run-down buildings

I think some of us have a fascination with old / run-down buildings.

I know I do. I took a photo of this building near where I work.

Probably in the city somewhere. But I didn't have a camera handy.

We have a lot of old buildings in Hamilton (and the largest number of pre-Confederation mansions in the country), although sadly many of them are not kept up, or are demolished by developers. Here is a picture of the Lister Block, which is situated in downtown Hamilton and has been abandoned for several decades now.

theres some cool looking run-down buildings in boston, if you come into boston by the train you see them all

We have run down buildings in detroit..... not many are all that cool.

Ah!! I love old buildings, especially since I'm an architecture major. In fact, I want my focus in architecture to be in Historical Preservation. I'm currently doing an independent study to document historical farm and ranch buildings in the valley my college-town is in.

First picture is of one of the barns I'm documenting

Second is of an old housing project in Denver near the Children's Hospital (which is in a rather run-down, scary section of town).

Third is of a warehouse I saw out of the bus window while riding through Seattle last fall. The other [marching] band members were taking photos of themselves. I was taking photos of the buildings.

(I like to explore them. Provided I have a shinai handy, of course.)

(I would like to take pictures, but I don't have a camera besides my camera phone. I might borrow dad's if I find a particularly good one that I want to take a picture of. Maybe I shall just settle for drawing.)

i have a friend who went to medical school in detroit, and rundown buildings over there are quite interesting. Once, when a warehouse caught on fire, a bunch of students brought out their lawn chairs, and despite the firefighters trying to keep people back for safety, the students just sat around the burning building, kind of like a big bonfire, and hung out, while big chunks of the warehouse colapsed! lol.
