LOL! Whenever my friend comes back from Canada, all of the sudden, everything is, "Like, ya know, eh?" Of course, they pick up her accent, so it's a trade off. Our accent around here is pretty notorious as well. My friend from over in Kentucky once made "I" into a three syllable word, and I was the only one who noticed anything strange about that.
Knowing a few things about Canada is pretty darn useful for an American traveling abroad. As my sociology professor, who is a French Canadian from Vermont, says, 'If you go abroad and they ask you if you're an American, the correct response is: "No. I. Am. A. Canadian. EH?' " Emphasis on the "eh".
Hope your picks for office won, Technomancer.

What surprises me about Canada is that they actually have a military. Some how thinking of Canada and military always reminds me of the series finale of Northern

We have a very good military thank you very much, and they have distinguished themselves on battlefields from South Africa to Afghanistan. We could just use more people.

It's you Americans that are the odd men out on this. Plus you spell funny too.

Hope your picks for office won, Technomancer

Unfortunately, the local candidate that I voted for did not win the riding.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

I misread that, and was on my way to becoming rather incensed. I smell like jasmine and green tea I'll have you know. ] Unfortunately, the local candidate that I voted for did not win the riding. [/QUOTE]

And I wouldn't dream of telling a lady otherwise.

Darn. Better luck next time.

The interesting thing is going to be finding out who now wants to lead the Liberal party since Paul Martin has resigned. Everyone that was expected to run now say they won't, and this includes the party heavyweights.
