Thanks for clearing that up.
Never been there before though so can't really state anything useful.

I'm a member there (same user name), though I don't post there that often. You've probably met Mossrose, though -- she's my mom. :)

I'm Warrior 4 Jesus there also. But I don't post often. I love to debate the issues but some of the topics there are a bit too intelligent. And I don't have the brain capacity to argue intelligently with the intelluctuals.

I'm there too as shadypickaxe. Haven't posted much.

Half the time the debates are on topics I'm not knowledgeable enough to join in discussing...the other half of the time, people are too busy bickering and straw-manning and insulting and insulting back, on topics I'm not knowledgeable enough to join in discussing anyway.

I joined briefly, mainly to correct some misinformation regarding a matter of Canadian law. There was a lot of willfully ignorant hysteria over the issue and so I weighed in. I didn't stick around too much since there are too many debates that end up absorbing too much time and energy.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge

I'm a member. But while I enjoy a good debate every now and then, I simply don't have time for many boards outside of CAA.

Boink! has been reading the Apologetics forums. Some tough subjects but also a lot of ignorance. Makes Boink! want to study scripture more. Boink! hasn't posted yet, but when Boink! does, the name will be Melchizedek.

Simple, they know that theological debate can be very useful, but it can cause discord, not least because denominations in general seem to have decided to be a bunch factions rather than be elements of the great universal church working in harmony as our Lord Yeshua Christ prayed. Liking harmony in the forum, and disliking discord, the CAA sets a limit on what kind and manner of theological debate is allowed here, with the rest being pushed to Tweb. Tweb meanwhile, as a forum anyway, does not care about maintaining ecclesiastical harmony as a major focus, so all manner of debate is allowed there. The fact that taking it to Tweb risks getting a thrashing is an incidental (and besides which, one could use the Basketball Court to limit the participants).
