Family Fun For Everyone

(Why is it that most of my threads are started when I'm mad? I guess threads are the only way I can vent when I'm mad and don't have anyone to talk to. I'm so pathetic...)

Anyway... This thread is for everyone who has a crazy family and would love to tell a story about them. They can be good, or sad, or bad- doesn't matter. Tell about how your cousin once got arrested for running in his boxers. Or explain one of your family traditions that no one else has. I'm so nosy, I'm eager to learn anything about your family and how it works!

I guess I'll just start off with a lovely little incident about my family. My father, his parents divorced each other when he was about 12, and it was pretty bitter. He had to go live with other relatives, and I think lived with his siblings on their own in a trailer for a while. So- this has made him very protective of our family as a unit. To him, it's like our family vs the world. We have to stick together no matter what. I can't tell you how many lectures he's given me about sticking up for and defending my family in any situation. But the thing is, he'll do stuff that totally contradicts what he tells me all the time. Like, when I go out to babysit for this family on Saturday nights, he thinks that it's the perfect opportunity to cook one of my favorite homecooked meals (a really rare thing for us), or go out and see a movie I've wanted to see, or rent a movie and watch it while I'm gone. It's like he doesn't even care that I'm missing out on it! :bang: I hate hypocrisy of any kind, and when he does things like this, it really infuriates me how hypocritical he is! Sigh... And he laughs it off when I tell him about it... I can't wait to go to college.

Wow- what a crappy story to start off with. Somebody post something funny, quick! :)

Well, my doggy threw up, and immediately started trying to eat his own vomit. Does that count as family? Gah, that was a gross story. I hate gross stuff. I kicked him....Okay, kicking a 10 pound dog with boots proably isn't a good idea.

Ewww... Good thing you kicked him- how far did he fly? Speaking of pets, my gerbils are seriously idiotic. They chewed up their first water bottle, so I bought them a new one. They chewed up this one too- and it had a guard on it! I tried giving them a dish of water, and they fill it with litter! I had to go out and buy a third bottle with a guard, extra heavy duty plastic, and a round top so they can't chew it! Stupid gerbils... How did they ever survive in the wild?

Well, it was more jokingly, really. I just barely tapped him and told him to run away. I can't hurt cute little fuzzy animals....
