Dying Facial Hair

Postby Stephen » Fri Dec 24, 2004 11:27 pm

Perhaps nobody can answer this...but I was wondering if any of you knew how to dye facial hair. I have been trying hydrogen peroxide...and that does not seem to change the color at all. I was wondering if anybody knew of any house hold things you could use to change dark facial hairs color. At this point the only thing I can figure is buying a bleaching kit....but hopefully there is another way. Any ideas?

I think you could like put vinegar on it, then like sit in the sun rays... I don't even know if it was vinegar, but I think.. sorta.

What would it hurt to try? :brow:

... If I remember, I'll let ya' know.. *Trails off about how her memory fails to much..*

Why? Are you wanting to bleach your goatee?

Thats cool.. ^^

At the moment i have a glass of peroxide....holding my goatee in it....see if soaking helps. As for vinegar....does that actually dye hair?

I don't think it's the vinegar, but the sun. And the vinegar just helps.. I think.

Cause you do know if you are in the sun ALL THE TIME then your hair could get lighter. ^^

So, it's mainly the sun, and I think the vinegar helps. But I am not totally sure it's vinegar, but I think it is... *Shakes head* Sorry if I am confusing you. ^_^;;

I will ask my mother.[tomorrow]

*laughs* Ok...the peroxide is a negatory. Nothing changed from soaking it for a few minutes...except now my goatee smells funny....

I think it would be safe just to get the kit (even if it costs) instead of trying different things and wasting time ;)

You REALLY don't want to dye your facial hair, because anytime you try to dye something that grows as fast as facial hair it will look like crud. If you're really desperate, buy a frosting kit at wlagreens or wlamart and just ignore the little warning on it.

Wouldn't you just um....go buy hair color from Walgreens or any other store and apply it like regular ol' dye. I'm probably the worst person to give you advice....since I have no facial hair.

I think that Sam*ron is thinking of Lemon Juice, not vinegar. I know girls that use it to bleach the hair on their arms and stuff. I'm not sure if it would work for facial hair, since that's terminal hair (instead of the kind we girls have, vellus) but it's probably worth a shot--you have to put a lot on then go sit outside in the sun for a few hours. But a kit is probably a little easier than that.

I know there's also bleaching kits for women especially designed for (well in our case unwanted) facial hair which is some pretty powerful stuff...but again, I'm not sure if it would work on you or give you the effect you'd want.

Stay out in the sun more. *Shrug*

lol telling a Maine person to 'sit in the sun' in the winter is not very practical guys ....it's cold up here! (not to mention the winter sun is rather weak this far north) but when bleaching hair bleach would tend to work ... or buying a thing of hairdye.
or if you really want white hair (that looks and feels horrible) good old fashioned spray paint (or white out or something ridiculous like that although fumes would make that the opposite of advisable)

HAHAHA! Thats really funny!! Poor Shatterheart! ^_^;;

But if you do get a kit, then when you put the stuff in your hair, then rap it in plastic rap, cause then it will work a whole lot faster. ^^

I streecked my hair once, with bleaching stuff, and it was rapped in plastic, my aunts did it to me, it worked fast than tin foil, foil leaves a weird color. So thats for if you get a kit. ^^

I want to dye my goatee black, It's freaking white, and not dense enough to see that way :P. Really... It doesn't fit with black hair.
