I'm sure there are deep social and societal issues here, but I too would just rather go with my first impression and laugh. I don't know, I think the pillows would be good conversation pieces. Perhaps sew them together, and then alls you'd be missing is the head.

The lap-pillow guys and the arm-pillow girls should just get together. Although how you can get a guy's head on a girl's lap and his arm under her head at the same time is beyond me.

That. Was. Awesome. Each of them. The lap pillow made me laugh harder than the arm pillow, though. Still, man, if what girls really want is a giant, beefy arm to sleep against, I had better start bulking up...

And I'd better stop doing all those squats because they sure aren't making my thighs feel like a pillow. The other day someone accidentally brushed my thigh with their hand and said, "Man, what do you have in your pants? Rocks?"

i can't believe someone would actually use that as a pillow... when someone sees that sitting on their bed, wouldn't they get a little freaked out? "Oh, don't worry, I just collect mannequins" *shifty eyes* At this point, the person with sense would run away. Man, what a creepy idea.

Well actually they didn't say that. I meant to put in my other post how I was just kidding about that. But usually if someone sees me in shorts or a skirt (which rarely happens. Me in a skirt I mean) they're surprised because my calves like muscular. They're not really very big anymore, but when I walk the muscles pop out... Sorry, that was really off topic.

Back on topic. The sad thing is though that I actually know a few guys at school who might actually buy one of those thigh pillows.

I know quite a few guys at my church who would buy one of those (for prank purposes, true, but still).

Oddly enough, I've seen both of these articles being looked at by others I know didn't link from CAA. They seem pretty popular (the articles, I mean).

Very funny in a creepy "I need to find something else to think about and soon" sort of way. I hope the single ladies don't get too used to those pillows, though. Having someone actually sleep *on* your arm gets pretty uncomfortable after a while.

I've actually seen them before from other sources. They're widely known in the "weird stuff from Japan == humour" circles. (like the USB-powered cup warmer.)

I've heard that "body pillows" printed with life-size anime characters are also pretty popular with Japanese otaku. I guess the lap and arm pillows are just the next logical step. It's still rather disturbing, though.
