This sucks

Today in school my advisory teacher asked what are New Year's Resolution's are. I said I wanted to become a better student and a better Christian and I heard people laughing when I said that. Why do people give Christain's a hard time?? :sniffle:

it will happen more times that you can think of. But, stay strong! Even if others will let you down. Just think of Jesus, which is truely there for you ^^

i experience the same thing at school. We had to bring in our own music today for music class. SO i brought "hanani" from the "OC Supertones"
yeah

people were like "this music sucks, yadda yadda" and of course i felt somewhat embarrassed. But hey, their opinions don't matter squat. It's God that truely matters ^^

stay strong fellow ^^

once again, i bring this verse up ^^

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

James. 1:2-4

yeah, that was rather rude of them to laugh at you. I would have felt hurt, too. Good for you for standing up for what you believe in, though, and not getting discouraged about your faith..
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Yeah, that does suck, my friend. The educational system we have here is an excellent opportunity, but has been infested with secular humanism. Christians are viewed as unintelligent and unscientific... what a shame... Amen to that verse. We can be counted with Christ when we suffer for Him in these small ways.

Yeah, Syreth made a good point.. I don't think the same standard would apply if someone of a different faith (say, a Buddist or Muslim) had made a similar comment about their religion. Christians do seem to often be viewed as uncultured, bigoted, and simple-minded. It's unfortunate, but try not to lose heart.. God is on your side.

i suppose this also applies, since we are all young ^^

The wonderful Bible (haha zip i stole your idea) wrote:"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love and in purity."

At your age, kids mock anything that is different than them. They mock that which they don't know or don't understand. it's that simple.

If they were older, it would be different. At that age, it's just the old "I know everything and there's no way God could exist (but infact I know nothing)"

If you have seen news items or listen to Bill O'Reilly, everything about Christianity and Christmas is being attacked or changed in the media, the business community, or education or the government in this country.
When you shop does the sells person say Merry Christmas or Season Greeting, or Happy Holidays, do the stores advertise Christmas or Holidays sells?
In school do you celebrate the other religious holidays that happen at this time of the year and not anything related to Christmas?
Does the city government allow religious displays on city property or in offices?
Does everything that Christians have done to build this country with its laws offend those who have come to live amoung us in religious freedom?
I don't want to be political with what is happening but it does seem we will not be allowed to celebrate Christmas, the birth of Christ, if these types of events continue.
