There are these little lizard-gheko critters all over FLorida and I love capturing them... that's the only hunting i do, I take a pic and let em go, usually by playing around and flinging them up in palm trees (they hang out up there anyway)

You do what to the lizards! 0_0 I cant believe that, isn't their a law against doing that or something...hmm animal cruelty?...that's just plain mean! Those poor defenseless lizards I feel so sorry for them :(

You shot animals!? *sob*

Just kidding. I'm not an environmentalist, but I just hate seeing dead deer. Makes me sad.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

You don't think "poor deer" when they are embeded in your car grill. My Dad had one charge into the passenger side of his car last week. It took out the side mirror and left dents all the way to the back wheel. My Aunt has hit 27 deer in the past nine years, and people are killed by deer when they come through the windshied (I would elaborate how but it is definately graphic) or when they drive into trees or over embankments to avoid them. Around here they are pests, and it's kinder to the deer anyway to be killed quickly and painlessly by a hunter who is a skilled shot rather than to starve to death because there is no food do to overpopulation. My family eats the deer we kill anyway, so it's not like we're wasteful. I would like to see the deer population controled naturally by large predators rather than by hunting, but it just won't happen, not around here anyway.

deer meat is the best! In the summer me and some friends go down to the ponds and catch frogs and then we put fire crackers in their mouths.

Yeah that's 'cause we exiled the wolves. :shady:

I think hunting's alright because (since the wolves are gone) the deer are overpopulating. But that's only if you actually use what you get and aren't doing it just to see something die. (I don't believe in shooting wolves and coyotes though. Deer have to be controlled or else they'll eat everything and then starve to death...but shouldn't the sick and weak ones get shot instead??)

Volt, you've got lizards around? :sniffle: No fair. :waah!: (I love catching lizards...I've only caught one though. Just be careful when you're putting them up in the trees, okay?)

I'm not to intrested in hunting. Though I don't condemn it neither do I like it much. However, God gace us control and domination over the animals for us to hunt. Thier's two distinctions between hunting and animal curelty. Hunting is when you go out and shoot a animal for food. That's ok (as long as it's not endangered  ). However, animal curelty is where you bring pain to the animal with no intention of eating it and it's with a mean spirit. Like shooting a deer and leaving it lay there to suffer. That's mean.

I was walking home from school when some kids caught a muskrat and where stabbing it with pocket knifes and lighting it on fire. It's ears were already gone (they tore them off) and they stabbed it's eyes. I didn't help the poor animal though (cause I ran home crying) but thats animal curelty at it's best. That's totally and morally run and absuing that gift God gave us. Another example is having a flea-infested dog live on your apartment roof with a 3 foot leash and the water dish 1 foot out of it's leash range during a hot summer. That's just wrong.

Those kids' ears wouldn't be in good shape if I'd seen that. Seriously. At least one would end up at the hospital if they didn't stop when I told them to.

I've always wondered what it'd be like to hunt deer with an M82 Barrett.

So far this has been a very even-toned thread and I hope it will stay this way. No shouts of "animal haters!" or "hippies!", ok?
