you youth group

I don't go ot my home church's youth group, because ther eisn't much God-related stuff to do, such as praise. All they do is hang out and eat pizza and play games. So I go to my friend's churches youth group. Same concept ^_^

So yeah this idea sparked me for a topic. So how is your youth group like and what would you rather prefer have done in it.

I remember with my old youth paster we did A LOT of games and sports because he was like a kid himself. I remember some of the girls getting mad that we were getting too few days for time to actually sit down have some praise music and then give a talk. I thought it was quite good with how it was! New peopel we always coming that weren't really used to a church environment.

Since that he left it's been good, but not as great as it was before. Some of the games just aren't... what they used to. We had a HUGE turnout one night with around 30ish people, which is a high number for our minority youth (most people go to the Reformed youth group, which is a high number of around 70... small town.) But I think it's a bit mroe balanced. We do quite a bit of fun stuff and yet have those nice days with music and a talk and stuff. Once even "the talk". But yeah we still have a fair amount of people going, still doing a bunch of fun stuff, so it's good the way it is now. ^^

at my school, there youth group, which i really want ot go to but never have time cuz of karate(i've stopped for right now) and homework(but now this is rising), all they do is sing praise and read and discuse things from the bible. i would so luv to go i think i'll go next week since it's only on wednesday nights.

my youth grounp finally got a full time youth pastor a couple of weeks ago, but ya we play some fun games to lighten the mood in the beginning, and then we take prayer requests, then worship band, then the lesson. I think most people we had in our youth group at one time 50 kids or so, regular attendce though is 20.

I went to youth group long ago that all we did was play tackle football half the time and the other half a quick bible lesson, it was fun in all but we werent getting into gods word very deep.

My Youth Group is great! They are all so understanding and open-minded! We have a pretty big group on wednesday nights (about 100-120 people, but thats what happens when you live in the church capital of the world!) when we play games, me and the rest of the worship team then do some praise songs, and finally we divide into small groups and do separate Bible studies. Sundays we have about 30 highschoolers and and 30 middleschoolers, and on mondays about 20 kids go to help refugee's from Sudan in the projects.

I wouldn't really change anything about my youth group. We have a very developed organizational system that ensures that everything actually gets done. We lost a brilliant youth pastor last year (it was a good situation, merely inevitable), but our new one appears to be of excellant caliber as well.

All Sunday classes are handled by the youth pastor or the sponsors (a group of adults who are involved with most activities). Bible studies are handled by a senior member of the sponsors. The first Wednesday activity is planned by the youth pastor, the remaining three are planned by the three branches of the youth council, which meets on first Sundays of the month.

My youth group is small and has poor leadership...I would like a new youth pastor. My Friend told me about her youth group, and it sounds awesome! They have like 70+ people and their youth pastor is really energetic I hear. And they sound really close like she sits with the seniors and the 10th graders alot (we're both in the 8th grade)! I wish my youth group could be closer like that...
