Remembering September 11th

Postby F.M Disciple » Fri Sep 11, 2009 5:11 pm

Today is the 8th anniversery of 9/11/2001 in which 3,000 lives were lost in the attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the brave souls of Flight 93 who scraficed their lives by bringing down a highjacked plane to prevent a fourth attack in the state of pennsylvinia.

President Obama has declared this anniversery the first 9/11 service day.
This is to help inspire people to volunteer and reach out to their communities, in the same way that we saw many volunteers do on that day.

I would hope that sometime today we would stop and remember to pray for the families who lost loved ones in the attacks and for our men and women fighting overseas for their safe return.

Also, and this is hard I know, especially for me. I hope that some day as a nation we would speak the words of our Lord Jesus Christ "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." To those responsible for the attacks.

I do not codone what the Terrorist did to American and Non-American Citizens in the attacks, even while the terrorists were taking away the lives of those they hate. They also took the lives of other Muslims showing that no one would be spared. Even after all of the terrible things done to us. I do hope we would seek God to help us forgive them, so we can turly as a nation heal.

Good thoughts, F.M Disciple.

I'm assuming we can keep politics out of this thread (read: do not bring politics into this thread, lest it be lockhammer'd).

Sure, being political is the last thing on my mind. I'm not trying to imply any political veiwpoints onto this thread. Actually I'm trying to be non partisan with this post.
thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the post F.M Disciple. Good thoughts.

It's funny, I still remember right down to the fine details what I was doing when I heard about it.
