Beware cheap Wal-Mart flip-flops

I know the article says they've pulled them off store shelves, but for those of you who have them:

My mom showed me the e-mail that had the link for this, and it included pictures of the damage done...ooooh, it looked really painful.

Seems like more people are becoming paranoid about China made items (well I guess... 'aware' would be appropriate) seeing how many more recalls are being made.

Had to pull off our shelves some Thomas the Tank Engine toys that came bundled with DVDs since apparently the red dye may contain led :/ And well, kids like to chew on things...

It's funny snopes is starting to become a "news" site... Hope they don't end up being what they set out to destroy to begin with...

And... Wow... Chemical burns from flip flops... Short answer: Outsourcing to China may not be the wisest thing in the world...

Yeah...I'm just concerned at how the Chinese feel about all these recalls on their products. I also wish that communism would loose their grip and disappear from the world forever; it's totally harmful to China. Heck, didn't they execute this one manager over there because of some recent recalls?

Thong sandals hurt...and they're hard to walk in. I have some Japanese ones that I'm supposed to wear with my yukata, and they're really uncomfortable. How do the Japanese stand it? *scratches head in wonderment*

In general, you get used to the thong sandals eventually. It's like how some women get used to high heels. However, I would go for a nicer slightly more expensive comfy pair. I did and am loving my purple Bata flip flops.

"Made in China": Having to deal with an ingredient problem from China in one of my projects most recently, I could say that I've become a little bit more cautious but not completely paranoid. I think the most recent events are a good thing. If it forces China to play by international rules and improve their conditions, good for them. That's the only way they're gonna develop and grow, especially if they want the world to take them seriously as an big economy force.

Not to mention hopefully getting some jobs back in America. Not to mention just improving the quality of some really cheaply made products.

I don't wear flip-flops, but those effects are definitely scary.

Thongs (I call them flip flops >_>)...uncomfortable...WHAT? No wai XD

I am a Flip flop person in the summer, boot wearing person in the winter. (although walkign as much as I do between classes and work has caused me to switch to shoes with more comfortable soles)...and I love wearing flip flops! XD

I buy my flip flops at wal mart mostly though OoO; I hope they weren't contaminated...
