Family or Friends?

Postby Puguni » Mon Jun 25, 2007 2:36 pm

Who do you most rely on, your friends or family?

I usually rely on my family more, mostly because they downsize a lot of my friends. :C That and I meet a lot of frivolous friends that I sometimes drop myself.

My family isn't really the best when it comes to asking for advice. =\

I really don't think this poll is totally fair (though, it is important to note that life isn't fair)...

..What if you turn to both youre family and friends? Or what if you turn to some friends who aren't exactly the wisest of people, yet tell you what you want to hear, while your family (I'm assuming you mean parents) really knows how to deal with these situations becuase they've been through it?...

....Or am I just not understanding what this poll is asking..... :bang:

I guess it sort of depends on the situation. I'll often turn to my friends first, maybe just because they're easier to talk to. But I get my family's input, too. So really, I guess it just depends on who's more readily available at the moment, though generally speaking, I'll go to my friends first. XD

Is 'The Voices In My Head' an option?
Ok,joking. But I would say it would have to need to be a combination of friends and family.

But seriously though what if you go to God first?

I have a hard time opening up to people. Thusly, I generally fall under the "Myself" category. However, when I do open up, it is to friends. I don't think I can think of a time where I ever opened up to my family....

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

I can't choose either. Neither are very strong. Although my family is stronger then what little outside friends I have. Although, would the internet count? If that is that case, then I might say friends. But I'm still unsure...

I trust my family. They're hard to get use to and difficult to deal with, but they're blood and God chose to put me with them for a reason. I have trouble trusting others--even the people I call my friends. But I still get along with everybody~ ^^;

Defnitely family. Some of my friends are unreliable, and the ones that are reliable are often busy being reliable for their own family (which is entirely understandable).

My family. I have wonderful Christian parents and an extended network of Christian family and family that is not Christian but still 'good people' to rely on.

In all honesty, I have to pick and choose with my best judgement on this one. Some of my so-called friends got me into a lot of trouble not too long ago, and at the time, I thought they were the closest people to me. Well...as far as family goes, we're not that healthy of one, either. Some of my reletives are completely insane, really bad role models and stuff like that.

So...I have a balance. There are friends that I have that feel more like family, and some family members that feel more like friends. :D In the end, I go to them both equally when I have a problem
