Yahoo Down

Postby Mr. Rogers » Wed Jun 27, 2007 9:50 am

Yahoo has been randomly been going down since last night (as far as I've noticed). Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

It's working for me now, but it wasn't working for me earlier. I tried restarting my computer, and that helped, but it still kept going down randomly after that.
I have no idea what is causing it, but since it's happening to almost everyone, it must be something with Yahoo that's gone wrong. *shrug*

It shut down for me for about an hour last night, then suddenly started working again. I don't know what is/was wrong with it, though. XD

Have you tried Google or another alternative?

Actually, a few of us created a Skype chat, so the alternative means wasn't a problem. Just an inconvenience that Yahoo was down, since more people seem to have that.

Not the search engine, bub. We're talking about the instant messaging program.

It seems to be working now, but it's been somewhat sporadic over the last day or so.

I am not griping I am only saying that he should have mentioned in the topic
title and begining thread that it was about YIM and not Yahoo in general.
Y'see my mistake is something anyone would have naturally made if they had
simply saw Yahoo in the title without any mention of the fact that he was talking about YIM in either the title or the first post.
My point, and it is not a gripe again,is that we have to be careful when we post threads so that people do not misread or get the wrong idea of what we are talking about. It is just simple as that.
For example let's say in Entertainment someone posts a thread that reads:
UW Football, now since there are two major universities that are referred to as
UW,University of Wisconsin and University of Washington that would end up causing a lot of confusion unless the poster indicated which school he was talking about
by changing the title to:University of Washington or University of Wisconsin Football.
Clarity is not a gripe it is a neccessity.

OT: Why not request a mod to change the title? It's been done before for many other threads that had confusing titles.

I haven't noticed any problems with my YIM (I usually have more problems with MSN Messenger) but then again, I use MSN and YIM concurrently and chat with friends who have both too. Hope yours is working by the time of this posting.

An innocent mistake is typically not deserving of a harsh response.
