So, there's this annual international event called Global Game Jam, where amateur and pro game developers around the world join up to slave for 48 hours without pay to create an original video game. My local game lab at school hosted such a game jam, from which I have just returned, with a new Flash game!
It's pretty simple, just: Press X To Not Die (except not!). Our GGJ page is here.
It's pretty buggy-- collision detection is kind of screwy-- and the art was pretty much a first pass, but it's playable and KIND OF INSANE. This year, the theme was Deception; our local theme was Abstraction, and our constraints (choose one) were Rain, Plain, and Spain. I was an artist, and did all the non-cutscene art except for the last cutscene (which you'll have to win to see!).
And if this wasn't enough to sate your hunger for 48 hour games, I highly recommend RunRunRunJump, another game made in my lab, if only because its a game whose background music goes "Chord Chord Bass Bass Bass Melody" and had a gun that says "pew pew" and that's AWESOME.
