Guilty Gear X2

Postby samurai1986 » Fri Apr 09, 2004 8:52 am

Hey has any one played this game? My friend has it for PS2 and I love it. Even though I don't own it the only time he can defeat me easily is when he is Sol and I am not Kye :thumb: . Also their opening sequence is pretty good and looks like they plan to make an anime out of it. If they did it would definetly be one of my favorites. Does anyone else have any oppinions?

The game was above average, but I wasn't overly impressed. I did however love the anime style opening. If they do turn it into an anime I would definitely watch it.

Guilty Gear X2 is definitely one of the best, if not THE best, 2D fighters out there. The soundtrack alone solidifies that claim, but it also has original characters and a deep background story. I believe it restores hope for 2D games in general, but especially 2D fighters.

In case you didn't know, I love this game and many 2D games out there. Frankly, I hate the way that EVERYTHING is moving toward 3D now, especially Megaman... but that's a different story altogether.

Guilty Gear X2 was fun, I wish there would have been more secrets or shall I say modes. But the cool character designs, anime-inspired look and cool moves made me enjoy the game. I think it is one of the best 2D fighting games...and would certainly love to see it turned into a anime of some sort.

This is one of the best 2D fighting games out there. It has accessible and yet very deep gameplay. It has a nice soundtrack and high-resolution sprites (which both SNK and Capcom need to do with their upcoming 2D fighting games... seriously).

For now, Jam, Johnny, and Slayer are my characters of choice... but they are all a joy to play with.

I highly recommend this game to anyone who like 2D fighting games.

But then again, the fast pace IS what defines 2D fighting. I'm a fan of KOF as well, and I really can't see it in 3D. And it's not true that mashing buttons can get you much anywhere, there's a certain mastery in getting out combos that require half circle rotations back and forth that are HARD to do O_o;; If you're lucky, you might beat someone by mashing, but if you're up against someone that knows the moves and knows when to use them (and can easily throw them out) then there really are 5 second K.O.s. Gulity Gear is one of those 2D fighting games that require a trained eye to see through all the flashy stuff to plan your next move. XD XD

Hehehe, I like fast and furious fighting games rather than the 3D ones like Tekken. It makes your heart jump and fingers burn XD XD XD

My character is Ky. He was the first I ever used and he's been my favorite ever since. My best friends favorite character is Sol which is funny because Ky and Sol are mortal enemies

My fighters of choice are Ky, May, Johnny, and that dude with silver-short hair. Sorry it's been such a long time since I've played it and I totally forgot his name...I just remember he was really fast.

He is Chipp Zanuff, the ninja. Yes, he is the fastest character and the only one able to triple-jump.

Heh, my friend and I are planning to do a sprite comic that has Chipp (his favorite character) and Ky (my fave) sharing an apartment. Hilarity ensues. A planned running gag focuses on Ky's near-obsessive love of Sprite soft drinks.

Chipp Zanuff > all of you.

...

That was mean, but Chipp is the man. Guilty Gear X is awesome. I have yet to get X2. If GGX is any indication, though, it's more than worth it.

I wish they would produce this game for Gamecube given that its the only system I have. Other than that I have to play it at my friends house.
