Please pray for the children teachers and the families of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, and if material support options come around, please consider them if you are capable. A large number of children and teachers have died in a shooting there.

Do not politicize this thread. Do not make it a theological discussion.

Jehovah-Shalom, Jehovah-Shammah, let the families who have lost loved ones today feel Your peace and presence in their midst.

Dear Heavenly Father, be with the families of those whose lives were cut so short today in Connecticut. Please, wrap Your arms around those who are in need of Your comfort. Bless the young children who were killed today. Bless, also the teachers who risked their lives to protect the little children; the officers who have to sort out what happened. Bless those who escaped physically unharmed, and may they heal emotionally with Your guidance. Please also be with all parents and children, whether they were directly affected by this tragedy or not.
I pray all of this in Your Son, Jesus' Name,
Amen

I just posted this on my facebook because my cousin suggested I do so.
It's been suggested that the shooter involved in the CT shooting was diagnosed with Asperger's. As someone with this disorder, I sincerely hope that this tragedy will not reflect on others with this condition. I pray for those who are suffering as a result of this terrible event and the shooter's soul, that he may find peace. I urge everyone else to do the same. Do not judge autistic people as violent and unpredictable. We are people, just like all of you. We have our strengths and weaknesses. We have hopes and dreams. And we deserve respect, not scorn.

Your post here may come across to some as using this event to promote your own agenda, so rather than deal with follow-up posts, I'm going to head them off. I'm sure you didn't intend it as such, but I'm asking we all let this drop.

To be clear, this is a prayer thread. Please do not make it anything else.

I will never be able to fathom the emotional pain and suffering that the parents of the lost children are feeling, as will as the children who witnessed it. Praying.

I've been praying since I heard about it and I will continue praying. It's hard to accept something like this happening. I still wake up every morning hoping it was just a nightmare. May God bring comfort to all those affected by this terrible terrible tragedy.
