ive hurt my sisters feelings big time

Postby Hitokiri » Thu Mar 11, 2004 3:01 pm

I just hurt my sisters feelings big time...very big.

I joke aorund alot when my jokes are usually sarcastic and I also have the habit of not thinking ahead of the consequences of what I say. Well during dinner in my sarcastic way I aks my parents "Can I uninvite someone?" and they "who" and I point to my sister. Of course I use it a joke but my sister don't take my jokes as haha funny funny and she runs out of the room screaming and crying.

So I get yelled at both my parents and scolded and threatened. So they said they've had enough of my jokes so from now on and I can joke at all (which whenever my mouth opens it's a joke) and if I do I'm groudned from a week to a month (t.v., friends, events, computer, games...so I'm pretty much good as dead, thats where I never think ahead comes into play)...but that doesn't matter.....

What matters is that I deeply hurt mys siter an dmade her think I just abosultely hate her and I tired apologizing to her and she ignored me. So my mom is saddned to. So I ruined the entire day (and the dinner cause of my stupidness).

So I tired telling my sister I love her but I have a bad time expressing love (even to my parents and grandparents). I always sound like I'm struggling in saying "I love you" which amkes it sound like I'm faking it. So trying to tell eh rim sorry and that I lover her made it only worse

so my sister is sad, mad, and angry. Please pray that all wounds will be mendded and that I can learn to shut my mouth.

Time heals all wounds, you just have to take care of the cut so it does not scar.

I will pray for both you and your sister. Hehe, who knows, you two may become very close as the years go by, and will laugh about this then. ~_^

Good luck, too!

I'll pray for you on that one, definitely. I can sympathize. I've said some mean stuff to my younger sister (she's about to be 13) just jokingly before. Then it gets taken seriously. It's not fun. Kind of an "Open mouth, insert foot" thing. Akaida's advice was good though, time heals wounds. She'll forgive you eventually, for now, all you can do is ask her forgiveness and move on.

Sure I'll pray. Being an older sister myself, I too have made comments that I didn't think through all the way.

But no worries, sibling love runs deep, and I'd bet anything that she knows you don't hate her. Just do whatever you can to prove otherwise, and the rest is up to her.

Let us know how it turns out, ok?

You know, sometimes a random hug can say more than a thousand words. ^_^

Of course I'll be praying for restoration though. Keep us updated!

When my brother lived at home this used to happen all the time. Taking from the sister's point of view, I just this: do the best you can to not do it again. She'll forgive you, don't worry. ^_~
