Surgery

I don't know if I'll be able to come back anytime soon, so I'll go ahead and post this prayer request.
I'm supposed to have surgery over the Christmas break on my ankle. For the 21 years I've been walking, I've never been able to put my left foot flat on the ground --I've always walked on my toes. Well now, I'm developing painful arthritis in that ankle. So I will be having surgery to lengthen my Achilles' (sp?) tendon so I can put my foot flat. That should ease the arthritis a bit.

I have no idea when my surgery will be. I'm still waiting to hear back from my surgeon. If I can come back on beforehand, I will and will let you know. If not, please be in prayer for me over the break.

Thank you! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas break with your families! See you in the Spring!

Sounds painful. I'll be praying the surgery goes well and that you have a speedy recovery and can get back on your feet (no pun intended). :)

Ouch. I'll definitely be praying that the surgery goes well and that you have a quick recovery.

Well, you'll probably be in a foot cast for a while, but way better off eventually. There was a guy at work that had a similar operation, but in his case the ligaments on the bottom of his foot were too tight, and the surgeon thinned them a bit so they would stretch normally. He had a lot of heel pain until this surgery, but he seems fine now. I have a similar problem, though not so bad, so I just stand with the balls of my feet on the edge of a step and lower my heels down to stretch everthing. I don't do it as often as I should (2-3 times a day for a few minutes) but it helps.
