Bible Study/Support Group

This has been on my heart lately: You know that Bible study I told you guys about in the My Mother thread?
Well, I really want to start up a Bible Study/support group for survivors of child abuse. I think it would really be beneficial to have a group of people who have been through it too and we can help each other through the healing process as God does His work in us.
Only, I have no idea at all how to get this off the ground? How do I start it? How do I advertise it/get the word out?

Does anyone have any ideas?

It seems like a tough thing to me to start up a Bible study with strangers. Perhaps you could run an add in a local college newspaper (if you live near a college, of course). You could also post something in your church's newsletter.

It may help to join a support group for abuse survivors and draw from that group.

Just brainstorming, I don't know if those are workable or not.

The problem is that there aren't any support groups anywhere near here. That is why I am trying to start one --so people can have a resource available to them.
I'm going to post on the Chi Alpha website and see if I get any responses. I've already emailed my church and am waiting to hear back.

I'll keep you guys updated...

I couldn't really begin to offer any suggestions, mainly because setting up such a thing would be drasticly different depending on the especific area and people involved, but I'll still be praying. If you're anywhere near as encouraging in person as you are here, then it'll be great! :)

Both of termyt's suggestions are good.

I'll be praying that God leads you in this endeavor.
