Cancer

Hmm...

Well, some guy in my church who belongs to my dad's martial arts dojo was diagnosed with lymphoma in the groin about a week ago. There was hopes that it wasn't malignant and would go away given a little treatment.

Now that a week has passed, the worst of everyone's fears have come true. The tumor metastasized, and new metastatic tumors have been found as far north as his jaw. It's obviously malignant now, and is having terrible effects on him. Chemo and radiology are working on him to try to bring this under control, and he's being kept in a pseudo-coma with morphine to help ease the pain of it all, but it's not looking good.

What's worse... This guy is 6 years old. He has a new baby brother, too, and his parents are not able to afford even the amount of treatment that he's received so far... essentially, they're relying on some good grace from the hospital staff. How long that will last... who knows... And what will be the ultimate outcome? It's not looking good; he's dying.

It just doesn't seem fair at all to me, doesn't make any sense how or why this could happen... I mean, for God's sake, he's 6-years-old! Not even old enough to know what Cancer is...

It's just so frustrating to everyone involved... the church, the dojo, the family and friends... How this could happen to such a young individual with a bright future...

6 yrs old....that is young...it doesn't seem fair, does it?.....But then again, whoever said life was fair....
Remember, we live in a fallen world, and it is becuase of this that these things happen to people who don't deserve it....

Yet, God is still bigger then this disease, and I believe that He can make this situation turn out for His glory.

A few months ago, a close friend of mine was told she had a rare disease that could be deadly...yet, somehow God was able to use this situation to His Glory...and the results were amazing and astounding...(http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?t=43844)

I encourage you to pray that God would use this situation so that not only would His Will be done, but that His name would be Glorified, no matter the outcome...

Know that I will also be praying...

I'll be praying. That's so sad, though!

Sometimes it takes things like this to remind us just how helpless we are without God. There's just nothing to be done but pray for this child, the family, and hopefully someone to help them raise money to deal with the cost.

And though we can't see them at the time, good can come from it. God's will can prevail. I had cancer when I was only 13. It affected every aspect of my life, and in many ways ten years later it still does. God has used it for good, though, causing me to draw closer to Him and developing me in to a stronger Christian. Additionally, the effect it has had in others' hearts as they've watched me struggle has been immeasurable. People tell me often about what watching me has done in their own lives.
I'm sorry things had to happen this way, but I'll be praying.

Wow, that's really scary.
But I agree with everyone here. God is way bigger than cancer. And only he knows why this is happening. PErhaps it will bring someone closer to God, who knows? But I truly believe that negative can be turned to positive!

I will be praying hard for this young boy.

Hmmm, this is quite the situation. Poor little boy, in this world anyone of us can't really say themselves safe from disasters, sickness or likewise. From the first second to the last, we are all in potential danger of looseing our life. Jesus however is prepareing a new home for the children of God, where cancer and so many other things that caused worry in this world will no longer exist. We are asked to be patient, and we know how had it can be at times. I pray that the boy will get through this without any serius damage. Cancer might be strong, but if God wants it otherwise, then cancer is not nearly as strong as God's will.
