I need some prayer or my brother
He is fighting the war, and I haven't heard from him in a long time. I really want to know that he is okay.
I want to see him return home safly.
So if you don't mind would you please include my brother, Matthew or matt, in your prayers. It would be most appreciated.
Thank you all.

I'll be praying. I know how hard it is to keep in touch with someone who's deployed in the military. I hope you hear from him soon. *Hugs*

OK, I'll pray for you.
I did the Navy thing for a long time, and although I wasn't sitting in a fox-hole somewhere, I can tell you that sometimes you just get so caught up in the day to day routine (and lack of sleep) that weeks can fly by unknowingly. Sometimes, we don't want to even think about home (remembering the separation) so we apply ourselves to the task at hand even more. Not hearing from Matthew can mean many things, including that he has confidence in those at home and he doesn't need to "check on things" very often.
If something serious were to happen to him, I would expect the military to contact your parents immediately. So in a way, no news is painful, but still good news. Have you tried mail/e-mail?

Still no word. Starting to stress even more now. I feel so cut off from him.
Still thank you all for the prayers, and some advice. Thanks. knowing that people care really helps.

One thing that can help is to stop watching news coverage (if you are) about the war. I'm still praying, hon. By chance, did he pack his cell phone? You can try sending a message that way. At the very least, you'll know he's received it.

You know you would think he would have a cell phone, but being the dork he is...he doesn't have one. *rolls eyes* I wish, I could message him. I'm sending a letter on friday, just for a reminder, that we are all here waiting for his safe return and that he has many people praying.
Thank you all

OK, it's been like 2 months since this thread started. Have you heard from him at all?
If not, I suggest:
1) Find out who the Command Ombudsman (-woman) is. This person is the big "morale for folks at home" contact. The can pass a message along to the commanding officer of his unit who can then smack your brother upside the head for not writing home.
2) Barring this, the American Red Cross has special authority to contact soldiers for emergency purposes. Not hearing from him might not qualify, but you might try to see if they will pass something along.

Quick update:
This news is really good. My mother got a letter from someone (don't know who) saying that they were sending my brother home in two months. Thank you everyone for praying. God heard our prayers and kept him safe. I'm really happy to know that he is coming home. Thank you again for your prayers and advice. it really helped to know that people care.
