Possible Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

So I've been trying to ignore it for some time, but it's gotten a lot worse lately, and I'll probably have to go in to the doctor for it. I think I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or something similar in/of my right hand. I have it a bit in the left to, but the right has gotten so bad lately that the bones in my hand almost constantly pop, and doing repetitive motions with my wrist, or motions that require pressure HURT. (actually, I have a lot of tendon/joint connection problems throughout my body - rotator cuff problems, ankle problems, kneecap problems, so this isn't much of a surprise; I'm not the most physically healthy person, if you hadn't guessed... )
Hence my job at the video rental place is pwning my hand... we keep rental videos in plastic security cases that require a bulky plastic key and pressure to open. I've gotten adept at using it now, but the learning curve and constant use really do me in.
Almost all of the activities I do require me to use my hands - especially art and music. So this is definitely NOT cool. Prayers would really be appreciated.

You got it.
I can totally relate to you on this one. I've been living with Carpal Tunnel for about 6 years now. When I'm on the computer, I pretty much have to use my wrist braces. I had to give up playing guitar (I've since been able to switch to bass).

Oy, I know how tough those plastic cases can be myself^^ Well for me, always scared I'll rip open a nail (let alone break) with some tighter sealed ones >_<
*cough* Praying for you...

That sounds nasty. I've had temporary wrist pains before, but thankfully not for a while.
I'll be praying.

Thanks everybody, I really appreciate it. And God has definitely come through - I found out tonight that I work in a department every night this week instead of on register, so I'll be able to rest my wrist more.
And glad to find a fellow plastic case hater, Tenshi. ^^ I'm finally able to grow my nails out again, the first couple of weeks, they were all broken constantly. lol

oh wow man Soul Alive I've seen some of your art... I'll be praying for sure. It's not right for someone so good with a pencil to have hands in pain. >:) We need her to keep on drawing!

I am really sorry to hear that, Sara. I have been struggling with something similar for several years, so I know how you feel and how frustrating having to limit/give up favorite activities can be. Is there any kind of treatment that can help you? You are in my prayers.

I'm not sure yet, haven't been in to the doctor - am going in next week. I hope that there's something that can be done. ;_;

Arggh, soul alive, I'm sorry to hear this. I really hope it's not carpal tunnel and that something can be done to make you feel more comfortable. I'll pray for you!
I generally avoid overworking my left hand (my drawing hand) as I use my right hand for things such as using the mouse, changing driving gears etc.etc. Maybe you could try practising some actions using the other hand? I use an armguard whenever my left arm starts feeling funny at the wrist <--yeah I'm paranoid over carpal tunnel. (^_^);;

Thanks so much Mave! I'm really hoping so too, but next week's doctor's visit will find out more.
I'll definitely have to try to make myself use my left hand more. I already type a lot, single-handedly with my left hand, perhaps I should start doing more.
