Friend in emotional pain

Hey, everyone. I'd like you all to pray for a friend of mine. Her name is Nina, and she's the girlfriend of my Army buddy Alex. Right now she's going through a lot of pain. Her dad had cancer and died a couple of years ago, but it wasn't from the cancer. She told me it was a car accident. Needless to say, she's having a hard time letting go, seeing she watched him suffer from the effects the cancer was having on his body.

Please keep her in your prayers. She claims to be a Christian, but from our conversations, I feel she doesn't have the same faith in God as we do. Right now she's angry that He let her dad suffer and be taken away from her, and thinks it's unfair and questions why she has to go through all this pain. I don't blame her for that. Didn't a lot of us feel the same way when tragedy struck the ones we love? She also insists that I don't know what she's going through. In a way, she's right. I've never had a close family member or friend go through the pain of cancer and watch them die a little more each day before my eyes. I hope I never have to face that, to be honest. Still, I've seen people I love go through pain and trials. Even if their situation is different from Nina's, the pain and loss they feel is exactly the same.

Again, please pray for her. I love this girl, and I'm hoping that one day she'll fully understand what a relationship with the Lord involves. I'm hoping that the love and friendship I extend to her with no strings attached points her to how God loves her. Thanks.

My mom went through radiation thearapy for cancer in her neck. She lost her abilitiy to produce enought saliva and constantly needs to drink water. I remember when nothing she ate when down well. It was pretty emotional.

I'll be praying.

Thanks again. Also, if you could please pray that the Lord works in her heart to show her what a true relationship with Him is like? I'm suspicious in that she may be a Christian in name only, seeing she calls my beliefs and standards "religion" and other things. However, I know I don't know what's going on in her heart.

Finished talking to Nina a moment ago. She's feeling better. Still lonely, but she's got me as a friend and that says a lot :).

Keep praying for her, though. And pray for Alex. Nina told me they just broke up for good, and according to her, he's not taking it very well.

I'm glad she is doing better. You're a good person to have as a friend. I'll keep praying.
