I feel like an idiot...

Never posted here before but I am going to now.

I learned three things today:

1) Being part Irish is cool until you loss your temper and act like a brute

2) Arguing theology is not a wise choice for me

3) Don't hammer at someone's beliefs

So I got into a debate with someone and ended up shooving my own foot in my mouth. Effective way of winning a debate *sarcasm*. I let myself get angry and I lost it. I only pray I didn't ruin the friendship...And whats worse is that I started it AGAIN after it had ended once.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. It hurts.

I guess some people gotta learn the Hardway. I guess sometimes I do. I did, I hate the outcome and I hate how I acted. Guess this is what happens when you don't listen to God's way and try and do it your own way.

Just maybe say a quick prayer for me that I would get my head on straight and stop acting like a jerk. I prolly upset this person quite badly and it wouldn't neccessarily suprise me if I made them cry in real life.

I'll write a nice apology later today. I feel like such a jerk.

one thing you gotta remember is that we will mess up sometimes...don't beat yourself up over this, and ask God for forgiveness, then ask for your friends' forgiveness and MOVE ON.

I have beat myself up hundreds of times for acting stupid...

I will pray for ya though! ^_^

Hey, you're not the only one who can say stupid things when caught up in a theology debate, Irish or not. :p I'll pray that everything works out for you and your friend. You can always appologize.

Hey, even the most devout get a little hot blooded sometimes: Simon Peter may have been Irish, too...

;)

John 18:10

"Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant's name was Malchus.)"

Jesus forgave Simon Peter, just as he will you. Pray that God reveal in your heart what you need to say. It may be tonight, it may be months from now. But ask for your friend's forgiveness now. Then when the Lord reveals the right time, speak to him about the Gift of Life when it is time to do so.

I will pray that your friendship is made strong again, and you are presented with a new opportunity to witness to him, when you are made ready.
It takes bad jokes to appreciate the good ones.

Lifting you up, my brother. And like others have said, don't beat yourself up. Remember what the verse in your own sig says: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrightiousness." Forgive yourself as well. :)
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

I've been there myself, debating with others on belief issues. For myself, I was sounding all cocky and didn't even get some of my sources straight on others' beliefs and... it didn't turn out good (although it didn't escalate to an argument or anything, it's not the right way to go :/) But I've learned from my wrongdoings. Praying for you...

I agree you don't have to be Irish to lose your temper. :)

Prayers~

I, too, find theology talk/arguments are just not something I should do much of.

People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share

And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.

God knew your heart was in the right place. I'm sure that's why he took care of the possible aftermath for you.

*saying a prayer of thanks.
