Knee problems AGAIN

For those of you who don't know, I am a dancer, but I haven't been dancing much recently because of knee problems. My knee was finally doing better, and I started practicing again. I decided to set a goal for myself to help with motivation. The goal was to audition for "So You Think You Can Dance." (It's the dance version of American Idol.) I basically just wanted to be in shape enough that I could be confident that I was performing to the best of my ability. As soon as I decided to start working toward this, my knee started acting up a bit again. No matter how much I do the things I learned from physical therapy, the pain just won't quit. This morning it was really bad, and I ended up not going to work. I've been working hard toward my goal, and I really don't want to give up. I even have a plane reservation to fly to the audition. And of course I want to be able to go to work without pain as well. Please pray that I would be able to push through this. I am really bad about always giving up, and for once I want to acheive my goal.

Have you seen an orthopedic surgeon about it? Sounds like something you need looked at.

It's actually not a problem with the joint itself, though; it's a muscular problem. When I was doing physical therapy and massage therapy, it was fine. I just don't have the money to do therapy for the rest of my life.

Well, my knee has been doing much better the last two days. It's not in the shape it should be in, but it's not horrible anymore. Right now, I'd really like prayer for the audition. I thought about making a new thread for that, but I figured since I had already mentioned it here I wouldn't bother. I would like prayer that my knee holds up and that I am able to focus on just doing my best for God. I don't want to get caught up in feeling like I have to make it to the next round of auditions. It's only a few days away now, and I'm really excited!

Well, that's awesome. That's good to hear that it's a muscle problem; I was under the impression that the joint was the problem. Good luck on your audition and I'll pray for you.

Yeah, I found a new physical therapist since we last talked, and she was able to figure out the problem pretty quickly.

I haven't really been around for a while, but I have an update that I just had to post. I was at a worship meeting lest night, and a guy prayed for my leg, and I was healed! I could do stuff I literally haven't been able to do in two or three years. I've been talking about trying to start dancing again in the fall, and now I know I can do it without having to worry about my knee. I really don't know what else to say except that God is truly amazing. Wow. I'm still sort of in shock. Normally I would be in mild pain right now, and I'm not.

Wow! Praise God! I'll be praying that your knee condition doesn't give you any more trouble in the future. Good luck with your training, I know you'll make it.
