No problem. Like RedMage said, really I'd recommend studying the entire books of John and 1 John (and probably throw Romans in there too), and really get grounded in them, if you want to get a good perspective of God's love for us and who we are in Christ.
But here are a few passages (from these and other books) to help you get started:
- John 1 - Defines Jesus' mission on earth and how God wanted to relate us to Himself as His children
- John 3:16-21 - Tells how the Father sent Jesus because He loved the world and wanted to save it, not to condemn it
- John 8:31-36 - The truth sets us free
- John 10:27-29 - Jesus gives us eternal life, and no one can take us from His hand
- John 15:13-16 - Jesus counts us as His friends
- Romans 5 - We are justified before God and now have peace with Him
- Romans 8 - Tells of God's love and goodness toward His children (including that we're not condemned, but that God works all things for our good, that He is for us, and that nothing can separate us from His love)
- 1 Corinthians 6:20 - We were bought with Christ's blood, and because God bought us, we now belong to Him
- Galatians 5 - We are free in Christ and no longer need to submit to bondage (including the bondage of fear)
- Ephesians 2 - We're saved--not by our good works, but by God's grace. And He has seated us in the heavenly places with Christ. (I believe this means that we don't have to accept a defeated mindset, because we're seated above that, with Christ. We do, however, have to choose to believe this.)
- Ephesians 6:10-18 - We don't have to fight the battle on our own; we are to take up the armor of God
- 1 John 1:7-2:2 - If we sin, Christ's blood cleanses us from it
- 1 John 3:1-9 - As children of God, it is no longer our nature to sin. (I don't think this passage means that we don't occasionally stumble. But I believe it means that as children of God, we're no longer defined by sin and don't have to beat ourselves up continually feeling like we are in sin.)
- Revelation 12:11 - We are overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
I know this is a lot, but hey, there's a lot of good stuff in the Bible that tells us how much God loves us and who He's made us to be. I hope this helps, and you are in my prayer.
