Friend and Classmate dying: URGENT PLEASE PRAY!

Postby ChristianKitsune » Mon Feb 05, 2007 8:09 pm

Hey everyone! CK comes to you tonight feeling worried, distracted and very very guilty..

A classmate of mine and friend from my College Newspaper is in really bad shape. I found out last week that she was admitted to a hospital in Wichita Kansas, (the hospitals in my area weren't capapable of treating her correctly) and she is in critical condition.

I found out today, after speaking with my editor, that she has meningitus, and that she can't even hear or see. The doctors aren't expecting her to make it...

This is really painful because I have no idea if she is a Christian or not. And I am sure there were times where I could have at least told her about Christ. Even if she didn't want to hear me. We had a few debates and stuff...we talked about our POLITICAL views, I am sure knows that I am a Christian, but I don't ever remember telling her, "Jesus will save you!" or anything...

It is on my conscience now, and I don't even really wanna think about MY guilt. I am concerned for HER. Guys, death is real...many who die will never see heaven. They will never know how awesome it is to be in God's Presence.

So I want to emplore you, to BEG you. If you know someone right now who isn't Saved. DONT WAIT! DON't Worry about if you are offending them...or hurting their feelings. Because what is worse? Hurt feelings? Or eternal death.

Please guys..please pray that if it's God's will that he will heal my friend. And pray that if she hasn't already that she will accept Christ...before it's too late.

She is only 21...only 21...barely 21...her birthday was in January...

thanks a bunch guys... I love you all so very much...

IN CHRIST!

I'm praying. :thumb: And my brother is 20, so yeah, it's weird to think that she's that young and this close to death...scary. Hopefully, if she survives, God can use this as a real witness to her life. :)

May God reach her spirit in this dark hour.

In my prayers.
With your doubt, all is comfort
We are all as we appear
No more questions left unanswered
No more wonder, no more fear
Nothing is beauty, nothing's feeling
Blood where there once was a soul
So I ask you, prove yourself
Make me believe that you are whole

UPDATE: My college professor told me today that she also has been battling, Cytinosis. Which according to the Cystinosis Research Network is:

"Cystinosis is a rare disease that primarily affects children. Cytinosis is a genetic metabolic disease taht causes an amino acid, cystine, to accumulate in various organs of the body. Cystine crystals accumulate within the kidnesy, eyes liver, muscles, pangreas brain and white blood cells. Without specific treatment, childrne with cystinosis develop end stage kidney failure at approximately age nine.

"Cystinosis also causes compiclations in other organs of the body. The complications include muscle wasting, difficult swallowing, diabetes, and hypothyroidism. It is estimated that at least 2,000 individuals wordwide have cystinosis, though exact numbers are difficult to obtain because the disease is often undiagnosed and/ or misdiagnosed."

So. Now I am bit confused. I am not sure if she has BOTH Meningitus or just Cystinosis. My co-editor talked to her older sister and got the information about the meningitus part.

Thanks for all your prayers everyone! They really mean a lot to me...

all this has really got me thinking...about how delicate we humans really are...and how one minute you can be totally fine, and the next...you could be in the hospital...or worse.

I won't dwell on that though. I know that as Christians we are to live our lives the way God would have us to live. In all things we need to praise Him. He gives us life. He gives us purpose. Without him, there is no reason to exist.

Here's a little Catholic wisdom to brighten your day, CK. Sister Faustina once had a vision from God that told her that He calls to every soul at the point of death, whether they are believers or not. That soul is given the chance to receive God's grace at that point. If it accepts, it is admitted to Heaven. It's called the Divine Mercy. We even have a chaplet (sort of like a rosary, but with fewer prayers) for it as well. She has been canonized, btw (which means she's a saint now). And yes, I will keep her in my prayers.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. I appointed you to be a prophet of all nations."

And that's why it also bugs me when people do stupid things to themselves, thinking they're invincible :/ Dumb stunts, substances (which may not effect them YET, but they don't think about the long run), etc. It's just sad v_v...

I'll for sure keep her in my prayers though...

Update: I talked to my dad, who works with her uncle...and he told me that her uncle said that they were taking her off all life support. She has a cyst that is rabidly growing in her brain, and she has a staff infection in her lungs.

he told me that yesterday she did wake up and even though she can't talk she waved at her mother and then her mother told her to go back to sleep until the Docotors could come and see her...since then she has been unresponsive.

umm...It really is starting to look bad. I am in a state somewhere between hopeful, but I think I have come to accept that God's will here is that she will not stay in this world. I still know that if it is His will, she will come back.

But her uncles said that they couldn't even operate on her cyst in her brain because either she will die on her own, or surgery will kill her.

So everyone please continue to pray. Pray for her family, my newspaper staff, because my Professor brougth up the "O" word, as in obituary. That sent shivers down my spine...

Thansk everyone your prayers do mean a lot...

Sorry for the double post...

My friend passed away this morning at 5:30...

My journalism professor told me 2 hours ago...I had been listening to my MP3 player at the time. And when I put my headphones back in, the song "Watching you Die" By Johan 33 blasted into my ears. I sorta had a mini breakdown...I am alright now though..

the REason why I cried was because this song is about Christians who don't witness and they condemn their friends to death when they do so..

Smell the despair in the air tonight
Filling up your lungs as you cry for help
It's like guns in the middle of streets
Pointing at your head, I don't care to speak
Won't you understand my apathy, my insanity

[CHORUS:]
Watching you die, watching you die
Your blood is on me, I'm
Watching you die, watching you die
Your blood is on me, I'm watching you die

Watch as your life fades away
Your pain is masked by your decay
It's like acid dripping in, I see it burn but don't wipe the skin
It's not my fault once again...but there's blood on my hands

[CHORUS]

I see the faces in my head
I hear the screams from the walking dead
Do you know about true regret
To know you lived your life for self
To think of all the chances I let go...I let go...I let go

Thanks for all your prayers everyone... Please continue to pray for her family...this is going to be tough.
