I was at lunch today (I just started 7th grade) and I was reading my friend's "Kill Me Kiss Me" manhwa. I also had Trigun #1, #2, and Maximum #2 spread amunst my friends. Well the guidence consuler came by and asked about Trigun #1 which one of my friends was holding. She said something along the lines of, "It's a backwards Japanese comic in English." The counseler was fine with that until she spotted "Kill Me Kiss Me". She picked it up and flipped through it and said it wasn't appropraite for school. She then asked who else had books like that and confiscated my Trigun. She said I might or might not get it back! She didn't even look through it! Help! Please pray for me! :waah!:

Although that's unfortunate, you do have to understand that the guidance counselor probably knows nothing of anime or manga and therefore thinks that if the first one she sees is inappropriate, then it must all be.

I know nothing about "Kill Me Kiss Me," but I'm sorry your Trigun books got confiscated. Here's a hug to make you feel better.

explain that it was not your book, and that your Trigun is entirely different. ask her to flip thru Trigun and see for herself.

AngelSakura -- I may not be a lawyer, but if you are the one who purchased the manga you legally own that and NO ONE is allowed to take that (legally) from you. I can understand if it were say: weapons, drugs, alcohol, pornography -- something kiddies shouldn't have to begin with. However, seeing as it's a BOOK, the Guidance Counselor can only keep it until the end of the day at which you are no longer permitted to bring it back on school grounds.

I would talk to your parents and have them make a huff about it to the principal. (It's not like you were reading it in class, lunch is a free-time period. It was not disruptive to other members, nor were you forcing it on other students or showing it off for attention. You were reading with a small group of friends.)

I will pray for you, though! *hugs* Good luck and God bless. ^_^
