They taped little metal pads with wires running back to the machine onto my hands and arms. After marking some measurements on my arm in pen, they poked me with two metal prongs to administer each shock.

We did finally get the results. The news was good, but not helpful. The nerves are in normal working order.

I have noticed a change in my thinking regarding my hands with the beginning of this school year. It is like I no longer expect to get better, at least not any time soon. The pain has become part of me, and I have found myself planning as if I might have this for the next 15 years. I have to work hard on staying motivated to try and get better since it seems like nothing I do helps anyway.

God has really been staying beside me and helping me through this. Just when I get discouraged, He lifts me up. If you would like to read some of my poetry about it, you can go to the eighth page of my poetry thread.

I have another doctor's appointment this Friday. The doctors are at loss as to what to do. Please pray that God will give them inspiration to figure out the problem.

Also, marching band started again, so my feet have been extra sore.

I really appreciate everyone's prayers. I don't understand why God is letting this happen, but He has stayed beside me through all of it. I am happy to say that I am growing! Glory to God!

Hey, I did 4 years of marching band in high school. You don't have to have an illness to get sore feet! We had these ex-marine corp drill seargent wanna-be's for instructors at band camp. Gag.

Still praying for you.

Thank you. I really appreciate your prayers and input.

Well, they took some x-rays and did some blood work. From the x-rays they ruled out problems with my bones or joints. The results from the blood work should come back in the next week.

I read through this thread to catch up. It may not make you feel a bit better, but I was afraid they would tell you you were developing lupus or fibromyalgia. I'm a happy its something less than that, I'm glad the pain isn't so bad you have to stop doing the things you like to do, like marching band. I'll pray for you.

PS- The poem in your sig, is a favorite of mine, a very fitting poem for Ramses II.

Well.... actually.... I have had to stop doing a fair number of things I enjoy doing such as drawing, playing piccolo, learning to play guitar, sewing, and more. I just try not to talk about those things very much because I am always afraid that people will get tired of hearing me whine about my problems. Thank you for your prayers, though.

PS- Thank you. I am quite fond of it myself. It inspired me to write a poem of my own. It's called The Desert. You can read it if you have time.

I actually was encouraged by a prophecy that a stranger sitting beside me on a plane gave me recently. I am still in a fair bit of pain. It is really frustrating, as I am trying to prepare my audition piece for placement in Wind ensemble. I continue to be surprised at how much the pain has become a part of who I am.

Oh, and the blood results came back as normal, so that means we still do not know what is wrong.

I apologize for dredging this up from the nether regions again, in the hope that you all would like an update as to how I am fairing....

... although not too much has changed. They're doing a whole nother round of blood (and other nasty) tests. They're worried about my kidneys now too.

I am playing piccolo again, though. Pray that this decision does not prove to be a bad one.

My feet still periodically pain me as well.

I coming to an interesting place in my spiritual journey also.

I really do appreciate everyone's prayers!

Once again I apologize for another grave-dig.

We are wondering if I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I exhibit nearly all of the symptoms. In fact, I am almost certain that I either have CFS or Fibro Myalgia. All I need now is the stamp of approval of someone with a degree. The problem is that we don't particularly care to spend more money on doctor's appointments.

Don't worry about updating your prayer request thread, Anna Mae. It's not gravedigging at all. :thumb:

And CFS and/or fibro would explain your condition. My mother actually has fibromyalgia with the CFS, so I understand some of what that's like. I'll be praying. :thumb:
