Hi all you guys, it's been awhile hasn't it? I'll be surprised if any of you remember me, but 4 months ago I left for college and my hopes were to be invovled with this. All internet opportunities were quickly shut down, however and my involvement would have been completely impractical. I did, however, recieve many new opportunities and blessings in spite of the fact. I was remembering you guys (all you guys on CAA and this team). I would apologize for not being involved, but he had other things in store for me and it's awesome to see his work still going, even though I had to completely disappear off the scene. I am in Hong Kong right now doing some service, but when I get home I hope to be invovled once more, even if it isn't in leadership. I would like to give everyone the deepest thanks for remembering me.

Anyway, just a reminder for you guys and gals that TOMORROW IS THE DAY!! hehe I had a shocker this morning, cause I thought it was the 1st already :P Silly me ;) I will probably be fasting from the computer again... I think that a break from the computer is almost always a good thing for me :P Anyway, have fun tomorrow and draw nearer to Him, the Creator of all things and the Most Holy One!!

Well, I'm back! And I must say that this fast went alot better than the others. For one thing, I actually remembered to pray more than once during the day :P

However, one person that I prayed for (Cobalt) actually seems to be worse today than before. As such, I would like to ask one of you guys to pray for Coby with me. Coby seems to be under either A) A real spiritual attack here, or B) a bondage of fear, doubt or disbelief. Because this is so serious, I think it will need alot more prayer support. Btw, if you do 'pick up this cross' so to speak, maybe a good idea is to rebuke those 2 things I mentioned in the name of Jesus, or something else if the Holy Spirit makes an impression on you while you are praying.

Anyway, how did everyone else's fast go?

I joined in on this fast as well... Though not having officially joined PG yet dissuaded me from posting about it.
However, noticing the lack of posts regarding this event. I suppose that I should post my experience with it anyway.

For me, the hard part was not tasting anything for 24 hours.
I can ignore hunger fairly easily, however not having any taste in my mouth for periods longer than 6 hours makes me feel like Captain Barbosa and his apple...
Fortunately for me, my youth group had decided that the 1'st would be the official 'end of our youth group' picnic day. :eyeroll: (No, I didn't eat anything... Though I was fairly unpleased that they chose the 1'st as the day for hosting it.)
Life can be tough that way.

The good thing being that I was able to set aside a few times during the day to pray for our fellow CAA'rs! :)

Strewth matie, your good! I dont think I've fasted from food for as long as a day before... congrats for holding out! Also, it doesn't matter that you anre't an "official" member of PG. In fact, basically the only official thing about PG is that it was mod approved, but that's basically it. Anyway, if you insist on official-ness then here we go:

---------------------------

I dub thee, Lionheart, a member of the Prayer Guardians; to uphold and protect our fellow CAAers in prayer and fasting; to draw closer to He who gives and sustains life, who is just and merciful; the ever-loving Father, glorious redeeming Son and the Counsellor and Helper, the Holy Spirit. Put on thy full armour so that thou shall not be found wanting come the day of battle!

From this moment forth, thou shall no longer be known as Lionheart, but SIR Lionheart! Rise, bold knight of the cross, protector of the defenseless, mighty prayer warrior!

Coolness! I've been knighted!

So, I guess there go any doubts I may have had about my official-ness. :P

Why thankye, kind sir! I agonised over it for ages :P
ok, not really... it just came to me on the spur of the moment... thats how tired and unusual I am :P

You know, I think we should make that the groups oath/pledge/saying/cool thing :P Or maybe, it needs to be quietly hid under the rug so noone can see it ever again.

Welcome, Sir Lionheart! It's good to have you with us!

Whew - sorry I haven't got back about how my fast went.

Well, I banned all sweet foods for the day - then went to Youth Group where there turned out to be an abundance of them and I messed it up. But on the advice of my Mother, I fasted the next day from the time I had messed up on the previous night.

So, we're still going ahead with fasting on the 15th for those who want to do it twice each month? :)

Absolutely!! The 15th this month falls on a Wednesday correct? That's alright I think... though one of my exams is on that day so I shall have to figure out what I can fast that will actually affect me (I won't be on the computer that day anyway, so fasting that would exactly mean much eh?)

Ahh I wasn't able to make it on June 2nd but I'll make it at June 15th (2 days after I start my new job!)

Just so everyone knows, I passed my final oral examination on June 1st! The few weeks before that was awful but it's over! Now, I'm packing and moving to a new location and job. What a crazy transition! LOL

Admittedly, my prayer life is pathetic (T__T) and I've had a hard time keeping the schedule. But after reading this thread and seeing how everyone is so enthusiatic, I can't help but feel encouraged and motivated. I'll push on and try my best to get back to track~ You guys rock! \m/

YAY!!!! Go Mave  :jump: Good to hear you passed darl! Btw, don't fret bout your prayer life not being as good as you want it too... I think we all feel that way  Over the past few months I pretty much only prayed (for these requests) on the fast day (and even then I only remembered when I was about to go to bed :P) but lately God has been changing me, so that I remember to pray for them atleast once a day (normally before bed again XD). Give God the glory! Hallelujah!!

I'm afraid I've been pretty bad about praying for these requests lately, too. The end of the school year always gets me tied up, and I forget to print out my request list ^_^;; My fast went ok though...I stayed away from the computer this time. I may try fasting the 15th as well...that is if I can get myself to remember ^_^;;

I think that's a really good idea if we're not sure who to pray for. I might follow your lead in that one. Thanks for sharing that, Jazz!

I hope things are going well for you all. I'm also struggling to keep praying for everyone on the list, but I'll trust and pray for God to keep helping me. :P

God bless, siblings in Christ. :)

I completely forgot about the fast! I'm in the middle of Driver's Ed, so that literally takes up pretty much all of my day. I also got baptized on the 5th (yay:jump: ) so I was busy. (Excuses, excuses. This is just awful!) Well, thank the Lord for his graciousness. I will not forget on June 15th!

You got baptised, Anna Mae? Congratulations! That's awesome! How'd it go?

Whoops - it's the 15th right now... I do know something I can fast for, though. :) . Have a good day everyone, and I hope those in my time zone have a good fast. For everyone else who is doing this mid-month fast, have a good fast tomorrow!

AIEEE!!! It's the 15th already?! ... I'm meant to be fasting from the computer
<.<
>.>
V_V

Actually, I think I might do it tomorrow, the 16th. That day I don't have an exam, and hence can concentrate almost entirely on prayer (I'll still have to study of course, but I won't have to go out or do anything more stressing than sitting on the lounge room with a pile of papers in front of me :P)

Anyway, have a great fast CA!

O, btw, CONGRATULATIONS ANNA!!! *glomps Ann* How did it go? Was it exciting? Did you feel totally awesome afterwards?

I remember my baptism... it was in a water tank in the church building. Talk about a strange Aussie baptism ;) I got to wear a cool dress that had stones in the hem so as to stop it from flying up when I entered the water (of course, I didnt realise that at the time... I just remembered the stones and the cool sounds it made when I got into the tank :P ).

My baptism was cool. It had been raining and storming all week, but Sunday morning everything cleared up and we had a perfect day. The sky was a pretty shade of blue, and the water was very pleasant (I was immersed in a lake). It was great! The magnitude of this event has reached my mind, but I don't think that it has reached my heart yet. I can completely calmly say, "Yes, I am now one with over 2 billion other people worldwide as well as GOD." Hopefully someday God will make me fall over in amazement at that awesome realization.

I also have a question: What do you do when you are fasting from sweets and your neighbor brings over your baptism present which happens to be a fresh homemade pastery that will spoil by tomorrow if it's not eaten?

If it's any consolation, I haven't really fallen over in amazement yet... and its been several years since then. Though I think when I get to Heaven, I think I'll find eternity insufficient to sing my praises to Him ]

Do as you feel led, but if it were me I'd probably just postpone the fast, or switch it to something else for the rest of the day. :thumb:

O, btw, I have now finished all my exams, and am on HOLIDAY! WOOT! My fast yesterday (from the computer) ended up being switched to fasting from CAA and other net activities as I needed the comp to study  Overall, it went alright but not as good as my last one, probably because I was stressing out bout the exam.

Yay! It's good to feel welcome! So we fast on the 1st and the 15th of the month? Totally can do. I dunno, maybe someone's already mentioned this before, but as we fast, we should probably pray a blanket prayer over the people who are possessed by demons that cannot be cast out except by much prayer and fasting (the ones Jesus talked about with His disciples who failed to cast out the demon when they were commissioned to do wonders among the lost sheep of the house of Israel). I dunno, it's just something that's been on my mind lately. Anyhow, it is good to be home. You can read about my trip if you click the link in my siggy.

Glad to have you back, Syreth.

Let's see... the 1st is the day before I will leave with my youth group and be gone building houses for about a week. Fasting will be good preparation for the trip.
