I'm struggling....

Postby acgifford » Sun May 01, 2011 10:08 am

I know I should trust God, but right now I don't want to right now. I feel disconnected as a pray. I understand that that is because iI am praying half heartedly. But I don't understand why I can't let go of my pride and let God. I even feel disconected from my friends. I feel apathetic about life. It scares me to be honest. I know I should be on fire for God and tusting Him...but I'm not right now. I hate being luke warm. I dislike it and see it as wrong. How can I council others when I'm not with God? I can't. I love people. I love them very much...as I am writing this I realize how without Him I am nothing. My council means nothing because I need God to help me feel people and have the right words. Something is stopping me from submitting whether it's me, or the Devil or both...I need prayer to overcome and get back on the right side. I believe part of the problem was that the person that I loved told me not to persue him because he wont persue me. Afterwards I was absolutly heartbroken. God helped heal my heart(and is still healing). I decided afterwards I could still love the one that I loved as long as I kept my promise to be his friend. As I was infatuated I lost sight of God. I became obssessed and hungered to see him every moment of the day. That I believe is when I lost myself. My infatuation(love or who knows what it is) settled down and I became angry at the person I like. I dealt with the anger because it didn't matter much and excepted that that is how he is.(btw I still like him. just not insane infatuation now.) Then I began to feel empty. I sat and watched anime all day. Played games. RPed. and chatted to fill the void. Nothing helped and I in the back of my head knew what was going on but ignored it. Please pray that I can get this resolved. Thanks guys.

I am actualy doing better now! God rescued me. I gave my life back. I can breathe now. I can breathe freely and my negativity seems to have dissapeared!!:DDD Praise be to God! I also would like to thank a great friend of mine for his prayers and to God for sending him to help me.

Also...sorry for the pointless thread. It wasnt pointless for me because it helped me to see what was wrong in my life. Thanks for your time all!

I'll still pray for you to grow stronger in Jesus :D Remember that God loves you unconditionally, so he will NEVER abandon you. In tough situations just trust that He will pull you through it.
It's not whether you can or can't do it, it is if you do it or not. Nothing comes easy in this world, especially a job or money. I rely on Jesus to get me through these hard times of persecution.

Girl! I got your back! *hugs* We all need a little encouragement at times and yes, I'm sure we have all experienced what its like to feel "disconnected" from Jesus. But that's why we have friends, so we can lean on them, and so they can help us. It's a beautiful thing. :D

Glad to hear you are already feeling so much better! I'll still keep you in my prayers anyway because honestly I kind of know where you were coming from.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NIV, Romans 8:38-39.

21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”
1 John 14:21

You've kept the greatest commandment.

34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:34-40

Even when you're not at your best, or if you feel a misconnection with God.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? ... 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35,38-39

And remember:

7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Matthew 7:7-12
