Job Anxieties

Postby Radical Dreamer » Fri Feb 16, 2007 12:09 pm

So today, I turned in an application to get a job at Starbucks today ('cause I really need a job XD). :D I'm excited, but I'm also nervous. If I get the job, it'll be my first one, and so I'm having all the "what if I screw up" and "what if they don't hire me in the first place" anxieties. XD I'd really appreciate it if you guys would pray for me to get an interview, that the interview goes well, and that I do end up with this job. :D Thanks in advance! :thumb:

I am praying. Be sure to keep us posted on how things go.

look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!â€

Ah no worries^^ I was all freaked out when I first got my job. And well, in fact I did mess up a whole ton the first month I worked, but I'm still around^^ You learn, you get better, and I'll be praying for you...

A new job is always exciting, and the first can be very nerve wracking. Ganbatte!

I hope this doesn't come across as condesending or patronizing, because I really don't mean it that way...

I know it's stressful now, but I don't think you have too to worry about in the case of Starbucks. What's the *worst* that could happen if you screw up? You might get fired, but if it's an honest mistake, most places are pretty good about being nice to their workers. Even if you *do* get the boot, you don't *have* to put this job on a resume; it's not likely to have a major impact on you later in life.

Oh, not at all! XD It's actually a good perspective to take, and I'm sure it'll lessen my stress about the whole thing when it comes down to it. :D

I'll be praying for you.

First job can be pretty scary. I know I was pretty freaked out when I took my first job as a waitress.
Just take a deep breath and be natural. I'll pray for you.

well look at it this way: your first job will probably be waaaay better than mine was!! (NEVER WORK AT A BAR AND GRILL!! SCARY PLACE!! *whimper* ) I eventaully quit that job XD.

Just remember this is probably the first of many jobs you will have in your life! ^_^ enjoy it and trust in God! If he wants ya to be there he will make it happen, if not, then he has something else planned for ye!
