Please pray for me and my friend

Postby RedMage » Fri Dec 15, 2006 6:33 am

Please pray for my friend in California who I met in my online college courses, and for me too. She's hurting and I don't know how to help her. It seems like all I can do is pray, but I want to do so much more, but it's so hard when you're thousands of miles away and when that's part of the problem, and when she only opens up now and then. And I try to make her see that I'm here if she wants someone to talk to, even though I know it can't be the same as talking face-to-face, and that she doesn't have to be ashamed of it, but I don't want to come on too strong. She doesn't know how good a friend she's been to me, and I would be so blessed if I could give more back to her. But it's not about me, so first and foremost just pray that God would fill her with his love and take away her pain.

Thanks. Sorry this is kind of disjointed and stream-of-thought, I'm not the clearest frame of mind right now.

I'll pray for you both. Just be honest with your friend and honest with the lord and pray for an opportunity to help, if that is God's will.
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries for tommorow and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us fron the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." -Romans 8:38-39

Thanks, people. I had a really good long talk with her yesterday afternoon, and I'm feeling much better about things. This is the same friend I mentioned here before who may have leukemia. In spite of everything, she knows Jesus, probably better than I do, and in some ways I'm probably more upset about things then she is. Keep us both in your prayers.

aww, you're very nice. :)
I'll be praying, just wondering...isn't it easier to talk online with someone than face to face? It's easier for me because you like....can't be seen. O_o

I'll be praying for y'all

In some ways, yeah it is. I was talking to another friend about that last night. He thinks you can get closer to people more quickly online because you don't have to worry about first impressions and appearances and annoying mannerisms and stuff. But when you're looking for a shoulder to cry on, sometimes words on a computer screen or even a voice in your headset doesn't cut it.
