Brief Description:
Plot Summary: Mushi; the life-blood of nature. They exist everywhere in various forms: micro-organisms, fungi, bodies of water. Sometimes, they're even mistaken to be plants, animals, or spirits. But regardless of their appearance, they exist, nonetheless, living the only way they know how. At times, their actions can cause strange or unexplainable phenomena. Enter Ginko, the Mushishi (mushi master), as he continues encountering, studying, and dealing with the mysterious mushi along his journey into the unknown.

Unlike description mentions, it goes beyond chapter 10.

This season of Mushishi features stories somewhat darker than the first season. I personally found there was slightly more blood...

Still soothing and breathtaking.

This show is pretty clean.

Violence / Gore: A man is shot in the arm and attacked by birds and blood is shown. A woman is sick and coughs up some blood. A man is discovered to be murdering people by decapitation, but it’s not shown on screen.

Nudity / Sexual Content: There is a brief scene in which a mother is breastfeeding her baby.

Theological Themes: Mushi could probably be considered to be nature spirits, although they could maybe be considered to just be another type of natural living organism. However, they are able to have seemingly supernatural effects on people and are linked to/make up the River of Light or Light Vein which is a planet spanning mass of bright, gathered mushi. A mushi, or human or animal for that matter, who is in charge of the care or natural balance of a region is referred to as a god.

Negative Themes: Ginko constantly smokes cigarettes, the actual smoke of which repels mushi.
